In Glasgow, “clean the outside” can mean your own windows, a shared tenement gutter or the driveway of a detached house. Be clear about that first. It determines what has to be measured, who needs to agree the work and whether a standard house price is relevant.
Traditional sandstone and slate also call for an assessment of the material. A routine paving clean is not a suitable price or method comparison for a historic façade.
Sandstone, slate and sash-and-case windows give Glasgow’s traditional buildings their character. For a window clean, specify your floor and which openings belong to the job. For a shared gutter or roof, explain who is organising the work and provide a view of the whole building.

Say how many containers need cleaning, their sizes and the collection day. Confirm that they can be empty for the visit and distinguish a household bin from a shared store.
A whole-house exterior clean has no consistent package size: one quote may cover windows and gutters, another may also include walls, roof and paving. Use the individual service prices to understand the work, then request one itemised proposal with the full total. Do not add every guide price together and assume it is a package quote.
Build an elevation-by-elevation list of windows, walls, gutters and paved areas. Ask for essential work and optional treatments to be itemised, with the order and number of visits clear.
