The short answer
Tell us your normal collection day, the number and size of bins and where they will be left empty. Confirm availability and arrangements for a missed collection in WhatsApp before booking.
Use the actual collection date
Check your council's current collection calendar for your address, including any published holiday changes. Neighbours on a nearby street may be on a different round. Share the relevant day with the cleaner rather than assuming they will know your individual schedule.
List the bins separately
Household waste, recycling, food waste and garden waste can use different containers and collection days. Say which you want cleaned and whether it is a one-off or recurring request. A communal bin store or very large container needs its own scope.
Agree access and readiness
Tell the provider where the empty bins will be and whether a gate or bin store is locked. Ask whether lids, wheels and handles are included alongside the inside and outside. Cleaning is not automatically a rubbish-removal service, so clarify what happens if contents remain.
Plan for a missed collection
A cleaning booking and a council collection are separate arrangements. If the bin is not emptied, send an update through WhatsApp promptly. Ask for the revised visit to be confirmed so both parties know what has been agreed. If the job is cancelled, the booking payment is refunded in full.
Check the recurring terms
For repeat cleaning, ask about the visit frequency, price per visit and how changes are handled. Keep those details with the booking message. Do not assume that a recurring quote covers every bin or every council collection date.
