The short answer
For a semi-detached home, list the front, side and rear elevations and make the boundary with the adjoining home clear. Side passages, garages and extensions often change the scope more than the bedroom count.
Start with three named elevations
Send a wide photograph of the front, side and rear that you want included. List the windows, gutter runs and wall surfaces on each. Describe an extension or garage separately, including any part that interrupts access to the main building. This gives each provider the same basis for a quote and makes it easier to see when a proposal leaves out a side elevation.
Show the side passage and driveway
Include gates, narrow points, steps, parked vehicles and any items stored alongside the house. Explain whether the drive is part of the cleaning request or just a route for access. If it is to be cleaned, supply approximate dimensions and identify the paving or surfacing product where known. Do not use the whole plot area as a substitute for the actual cleaning area.
Make adjoining parts explicit
A joined roofline or adjacent driveway does not tell the cleaner who has authorised work on each part. Mark the boundary in your brief and discuss any shared access arrangement with the relevant person beforehand. Where both households want quotes, explain that as a coordinated request with separate agreed scopes. Avoid assuming one homeowner’s booking automatically covers their neighbour’s property.
Compare a bundle with an itemised alternative
A package covering windows, gutters and paving should still say what happens to each surface. Ask for essential tasks and optional finishing work to be identified. A side wall wash, garage roof treatment or driveway sealing can change both the method and the number of visits. An itemised proposal helps you prioritise the work without mistaking different scopes for different prices for the same job.

Before booking, check the access plan, surfaces, cleaner’s price, added percentage booking fee and full total. Agree who is available for questions and how completion will be shown. If the provider identifies a defect or additional task on the day, discuss and confirm a revised scope before work is varied. The booking payment is refunded in full if the job is cancelled.
