The short answer
An external wash of gutters, fascias and soffits is a different scope from clearing debris inside the gutter. Name both if you want both, and ask how the material and access affect the method.
Say which surfaces are included
Photograph the roofline from the ground and identify the visible gutter faces, fascia boards and underside soffits you want cleaned. List front, side, rear, porch and extension areas separately. If you also want the gutters cleared internally, say so explicitly. A quote that describes one of these tasks should not be assumed to cover all of them.
Show condition and obstructions
Include any flaking finish, loose section, vent, cable or conservatory beneath the work. Share material or installer information where known. The provider needs to decide how to reach and clean the surfaces without relying on a generic roofline-wash description. Ask for defects to be recorded and for any repair recommendation to be separated from the cleaning proposal.
Ask about the intended result
Ordinary surface dirt, persistent discolouration and a damaged coating may not respond in the same way. Ask what the provider expects to remove and whether a trial is needed. Confirm how windows, plants and adjacent walls will be protected. A suitable method should account for the actual finish and condition, rather than promising that every surface will return to a new appearance.
Compare clearance and washing as line items
Request separate descriptions for internal gutter clearance, downpipe checks and external roofline washing. Ask whether debris removal and completion photographs are included.
